Let's make our community a better place!
We are a recognised national maritime training organisation.
We are a uniformed body of volunteers with more than 30 units around the country.
We are organised nationally into units and regions.
We have a grade structure based upon the individual member’s achievements and skills.
We operate as a registered charity.
If you have a passion for the maritime world, willing to give your time and keen to learn new skills, come down and meet us (See the contact page for details). We are always looking for volunteers and we'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you.
Applicants must be aged 18 or over, there is no upper age limit

Members are expected to attend training nights, courses and exercises as often as possible and are asked to sign a volunteer agreement.
Members wear uniform showing the MVS grade to which they are entitled and pay a monthly subscription of £12, which includes MVS personal accident insurance and acts to subsidise activities.
There is also an opportunity to join the unit's SAR team.
This is a small but dedicated team who form a part of Northamptonshire's Resilience organisation.
As well as in-unit training they work with the local emergency services in time of stretch.
